A good first try if your tongue is the reason you snore
GMSS holds your tongue forward with soft suction, so it does not press on your jaw or teeth. It suits people who breathe through the nose and cannot use jaw mouthpieces. It is not a treatment for sleep apnea.

How the Good Morning Snore Solution works
When you fall asleep, the muscles in your mouth and throat relax. For many people the tongue slides back toward the throat. The airway gets narrower, air has to squeeze through, and the soft tissue shakes. That shaking is the snore.

The Good Morning Snore Solution (GMSS for short) is a tongue-retaining device. It is a soft, clear mouthpiece with a small bulb at the front. You put the tip of your tongue into the bulb, and gentle suction keeps the tongue forward all night. The flat part rests between your lips and your teeth. Nothing grips your teeth, and your jaw stays where it is.
It was designed by Dr. Leslie Dort, a dentist and sleep researcher at the University of Calgary. It is made by MPowrx Health and Wellness Products. The maker says it was invented in Canada and is made in the USA.
Putting it in takes about ten seconds
- Squeeze the bulbPress the front bulb flat between your finger and thumb.
- Stick out your tonguePush the tip of your tongue out past your lips.
- Slide it onPut your tongue tip into the bulb opening. The flat part goes between lips and teeth.
- Let goRelease the bulb. The suction now holds your tongue forward gently.
First, check what kind of snorer you are
GMSS fixes one cause of snoring: the tongue. If your snoring comes from somewhere else, it will not help much. This quick table shows which fix matches which cause. Many people have more than one.
A 10-second check you can do now
Stick your tongue out and hold it gently between your teeth. Now try to make a snoring sound. If the sound is much weaker, your tongue is likely part of your snoring, and a tongue device is worth a try.
Then close your mouth and try to snore again. If you can still snore easily with your mouth closed, a chin strap alone is unlikely to be enough.

Our free 1-minute snore quiz walks you through the nose, mouth, tongue and sleep-position checks, then shows the fix that matches your answers. No email needed.
What the research says
GMSS was tested in a randomized, controlled crossover study published in the journal Sleep and Breathing in 2008 (Dort and Brant). People slept with the real device, which uses suction, and with a copy of the same shape that had no suction. Only the suction device made a real difference.

How to read these numbers
This is a good sign, but it is not proof that it will work for you. Dr. Dort, who designed the device, led the study. The study was small, and the authors themselves said bigger studies are needed.
The 54% figure also means that almost half of the people did not want to keep using it. That is normal for any mouthpiece, and it is exactly why the 30-day guarantee matters. The study also measured breathing pauses. I leave that out on purpose: the maker sells GMSS for snoring only.
The first two weeks: what to expect
Every mouthpiece needs a few nights to get used to. With a tongue device the main surprise is the feeling of the tongue being held, plus extra saliva for the first nights. Here is a simple plan so you give it a fair test.
- Nights 1–3It will feel strange
Extra saliva is normal at first. If you take it out in the night, that is fine. Try again the next night.
- Nights 4–7Wear it a little longer
Aim for a few more hours each night. If the tip of your tongue feels sore, use less suction.
- Week 2It starts to feel normal
The saliva and the odd feeling usually settle. Ask your partner whether the snoring has changed.
- Day 21–25Decide
The guarantee runs 30 days from delivery. If it is not working, start the return before day 30.
Tips that make the start easier
- Start on a weekend night, so a short night does not matter.
- Wear it for 15 minutes while you read before bed, to get used to the feeling.
- Put a small towel on your pillow for the first few nights.
- Use only gentle suction. More suction does not work better.
- Clear your nose before bed. A saline spray or a nasal strip helps.
- Skip alcohol close to bedtime. It relaxes the tongue and throat even more.
- Sleep on your side if you can. If side sleeping hurts your shoulder, your mattress may be too firm.
GMSS vs jaw mouthpieces (MADs)
Most anti-snoring mouthpieces are mandibular advancement devices, or MADs. They clip onto your teeth and push your lower jaw forward. GMSS works on the tongue instead. Here is how the two types compare.
| GMSS (tongue) | Jaw mouthpiece (MAD) | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Holds the tongue forward with suction | Pushes the lower jaw forward |
| Pressure on teeth and jaw | None | Yes, on the teeth and jaw joint |
| Works with dentures or no teeth | Yes | Usually no, it needs teeth to grip |
| Fitting | None, ready out of the box | Often boil-and-bite or a dentist fitting |
| Common side effects at first | Extra saliva, sore tongue tip | Sore jaw, sore teeth |
| Long-term concern | Replace about once a year | Can slowly change your bite |
| Nose breathing needed | Yes, always | Helpful, less strict |
My take: if a jaw mouthpiece gave you jaw pain, if you have TMJ problems, or if you wear dentures, GMSS is the more sensible choice. If your teeth and jaw are healthy and your nose is often blocked, a jaw mouthpiece may suit you better.

What to know first
- You must breathe through your nose
- The first week feels odd for most people

Snoring or sleep apnea? Check this first
Loud snoring can be a sign of obstructive sleep apnea. Warning signs are pauses in breathing, gasping or choking at night, morning headaches, and feeling very sleepy in the day. If any of these sound like you, talk to a doctor before you buy any snoring device. GMSS is sold for snoring only, and the maker says it is not a treatment for sleep apnea.

Two-pack
$139.94
$69.97 per mouthpiece

Not sure about the size? The maker also sells a two-size starter pack with one Regular and one Small, so you can test both at home.
Good Morning Snore Solution discount codes
The maker gives two codes to its partner sites. You type them in at checkout on the official site. Both are listed as valid until 1 January 2027 (checked 22 October 2026):
- DREAMSLEEP5: 5% off everything, about $4 off a single mouthpiece.
- TWOPACKSPECIAL: 10% off any two-pack, about $14 off the $139.94 pack.
Shops usually take one code per order, so use the one that fits what you buy. If a code doesn’t work, the maker may have ended it early, and the price above still applies.
How the 30-day guarantee works
- Order from the official siteThe maker’s guarantee covers orders from its own store.
- Wear it every nightGive it two to three weeks. The first week is the hardest.
- Not happy? Ask for a returnStart it within 30 days of delivery, not 30 days of first use.
- Get your money backYou get the product price back. Shipping and add-ons are not refunded.
If you buy from another store, that store’s return rules apply instead. Check them before you order.
Sizes: Regular or Small?
- Regular: for most adults with an average or large tongue.
- Small: for smaller mouths, tongues or body frames, often younger adults.
- Not sure: the two-size starter pack lets you try both.
Cleaning and care
- RinseRinse it in cold water every morning.
- Soak 10 minutesUse cold water with a denture or retainer cleaner.
- Air-dryRinse again, let it dry, and keep it in a case.
Never use hot water, because heat can change the shape. Replace the mouthpiece about once a year, or sooner if you see a crack or tear, or if the bulb stops holding your tongue well.
Frequently asked questions
Does GMSS stop snoring completely?
Not for everyone. In the study it cut snoring events by about 38% on average. That is an average, so some people will get a bigger drop and some a smaller one, or none. The 30-day guarantee is there for the second group.
Can I use it if I have sleep apnea?
No. The maker sells it for snoring only, not as a treatment for sleep apnea. If you have sleep apnea, or signs of it, talk to a doctor about treatment.
Is Good Morning Snore Solution FDA approved?
It is FDA cleared, not FDA approved: anti-snoring mouthpieces go through clearance, not approval. The FDA cleared it for over-the-counter use in 2020 (K193239) to reduce snoring. An earlier clearance from 2008 (K081965) was for prescription use. It is not cleared to treat sleep apnea. Our check of 242 FDA records for snoring mouthpieces explains what clearance means and lists the other cleared mouthpieces.
Does it work with dentures?
Yes. GMSS holds the tongue, not the teeth, so it does not need teeth to grip. The maker markets it for people with dentures and for people with no teeth.
What if my nose is blocked?
GMSS only works if you can breathe through your nose. Try a saline spray or a nasal strip first. If your nose is blocked most nights, a different fix or a doctor visit is the better first step.
How long does one mouthpiece last?
About one year with normal care, according to the maker. Replace it sooner if it cracks, tears or loses its hold.
Is there a Good Morning Snore Solution coupon code?
Yes. DREAMSLEEP5 takes 5% off anything on the official site, and TWOPACKSPECIAL takes 10% off a two-pack. Both are listed as valid until 1 January 2027 (checked 22 October 2026). Use one code per order.
Where should I buy it?
From the official site, if you want the maker’s 30-day money-back guarantee. Other stores have their own return rules.
My verdict
The Good Morning Snore Solution is not magic, and it takes a week or two to get used to. But it goes after a common cause of snoring, it leaves your jaw and teeth alone, and it has real, if small, research behind it.
If the tongue check made your snoring quieter and you can breathe through your nose, it is worth a proper 30-day try. The guarantee means the main thing you risk is a few odd nights.
Try GMSS for 30 nights
From $79.94. FDA-cleared to reduce snoring. Money back within 30 days of delivery if it is not for you.
