RV Sheets: Short Queen and RV King Sizes, and What Fits

An RV king is 4 inches narrower than a home king, and most RV queens are short. RV queen sheets, RV king sizes and how to measure before you buy.

You pull a fresh queen fitted sheet over your camper mattress, tuck the last corner, and the first corner pops off. πŸ™ƒ It isn’t you. An “RV queen” is usually 5 inches shorter than a home queen, and an RV king is 4 inches narrower than a home king. So RV queen sheets and regular queen sheets aren’t the same thing, and the sheet that fits at home won’t stay put on the road.

I haven’t slept on these sheets. This guide is based on the published RV mattress sizes, the shop’s product details and policies, and 36 buyer reviews.

The short answer

RV queen sheets fit a short queen mattress, 60 x 75 inches. An RV king is 72 x 80 inches and an RV short king 72 x 75. Measure your mattress’s width, length and depth, then buy a set made for that size with deep enough pockets. Egyptian Linens sells all three; our Egyptian Linens review covers them.

What size are RV queen sheets?

Most “RV queen” sheets are made for a short queen mattress: 60 inches wide and 75 inches long. That’s as wide as a home queen, but 5 inches shorter. Some RV makers go even shorter, at 60 x 74 inches, so the label on the sheet set matters less than the tape measure.

Here’s the confusing bit: some RVs do have a full-length queen, 60 x 80 inches, the same as at home. Sheet shops often say “RV queen” when they mean short queen. Egyptian Linens even labels its set “RV Queen (AKA Short Queen)”. So before you order, find out which one you have.

And if you thought kings would be simpler… nope. πŸ˜…

RV mattress sizes vs home mattress sizes

RV beds are sized to fit the rig, not your sheets.

RV beds are sized to fit the space in the rig, not the other way round. These are the usual RV sizes (sources at the end), next to the home sizes from our bed sizes guide:

RV sizeInches (W x L)Closest home size
RV bunk28 x 75 to 35 x 79Twin is 38 x 75: too wide
Three-quarter48 x 75 or 48 x 80None
RV full53 to 55 x 75Full, 54 x 75
RV short queen60 x 74 or 60 x 75Queen is 60 x 80: 5 inches longer
RV queen60 x 80Queen, the same
RV short king72 x 75None

Notice the pattern? The RV sizes that match a home size (full, queen, California king) take home sheets just fine. The odd ones, short queen, short king, RV king and bunks, are where the trouble starts.

Will regular sheets fit an RV mattress?

Only if your mattress is a home size. On the odd sizes, the fitted sheet is the problem. Flat sheets are forgiving, because you just tuck in the extra.

πŸ“

5 inches too long. The extra fabric bunches at the foot and the corners creep off at night.

The length is right, but it’s 6 inches too narrow. You’ll wrestle it on, and it will pull loose.

πŸ‘‘

4 inches too wide. It’s baggy at the sides and wrinkles under you.

Sheet straps (elastic clips that join the corners under the mattress) can rescue a sheet that’s a little big. But if you sleep in the RV a lot, a set cut to the size is less fuss. And there’s one more number that catches people out.

How deep should RV sheet pockets be?

Deep enough for your mattress, and not much deeper. There’s no standard thickness for RV mattresses, so you have to measure. Pocket depth is how tall a mattress the fitted sheet’s sides can cover.

  • Pockets too shallow: the corners won’t reach under the mattress, so they spring off.
  • Pockets too deep: a home sheet made for a thick mattress sags on a thin RV one.

Upgraded your RV mattress? Check its depth again. Egyptian Linens’ RV sets fit mattresses 10 inches and under, so a thicker new mattress needs a different set.

How to measure your RV mattress

Hands measuring the depth of a bare camper mattress with a tape measure
Measure the depth at a corner, and add any topper.

It takes two minutes and a tape measure. Strip the bed first, so you measure the mattress and not the bedding.

  1. Measure the width Side to side across the middle. 60 inches means a queen size; 72 means an RV king or short king.
  2. Measure the length Head to foot. 74 or 75 inches means “short”; 80 inches is full length.
  3. Measure the depth From the bottom edge to the top, at a corner. Add any mattress topper you use.
  4. Check the corners Some RV mattresses have a rounded or cut corner to clear a door or cabinet. Odd shapes may need a custom-made sheet, so check before you order a standard set.

Write the three numbers down, like “60 x 75, 8 inches deep”. That one line is your shopping list.

Making an RV bed that sits against a wall

A man kneels on an RV bed to tuck the far corner of a fitted sheet against the wall
Beds against a wall: put the far corners on first.

Lots of RV beds are pushed into a corner or a slide-out, so you can’t walk round them. Getting a fitted sheet onto the far corners is a workout. 🧘 A few things make it easier:

  • Put the far corners on first, while you can still lift the mattress, then finish the near side.
  • Look for elastic all the way round and corner straps. They grip a thin mattress better than elastic at the corners only.
  • Zip-on bedding is an option for beds you can’t reach at all: several RV shops sell sheets that zip onto a base layer.

So you know your size, your depth and your bed. Where do you actually buy a set that fits?

Where to buy RV sheets: Egyptian Linens

Egyptian Linens is a US sheet shop that specializes in odd sizes, and it sells RV short queen, RV king and RV short king sets. Every set has a fitted sheet with elastic all the way round, extra corner straps and 10-inch pockets, plus a flat sheet and two pillowcases. I compared the three cotton sateen sets on its site on 27 October 2026:

SetSizesPriceBuyer rating
300 thread countRV queen, RV king$85 / $904.83 (6 reviews)
250 thread count, made in USARV queen, RV king$90 / $954.36 (22 reviews)
608 thread count, made in USARV queen, short king, RV king$110 / $120 / $1204.64 (14 reviews)
Prices and ratings from egyptianlinens.com, checked 27 Oct 2026. All fit mattresses 10 inches deep and under.

What’s in each size, so you can check it against your numbers:

  • RV queen (short queen): a 60 x 75 inch fitted sheet, a 92 x 100 inch flat sheet and two 20 x 30 inch pillowcases.
  • RV king: a 72 x 80 inch fitted sheet, a 102 x 108 inch flat sheet and two 20 x 40 inch king pillowcases.
  • RV short king (608 set only): a 72 x 75 inch fitted sheet, a 96 x 95 inch flat sheet and two king pillowcases.

What buyers say

I read 36 of the 42 reviews on these three sets. The praise is mostly about fit: “First time I have RV sheets that actually fit,” wrote one buyer, and another said the 608 set fit their 8-inch RV mattress. A few singled out the corner elastic.

The complaints are about feel. A few buyers found the 250 set stiff and rough at first, and one said the elastic tore off a corner the first time they put it on. Another buyer of the same set said it got softer with each wash. One 608 buyer had a tear in the fitted sheet after about a year, plus wrinkles and fading.

πŸ‘ Good fit for

  • RV short queen, RV king and RV short king mattresses up to 10 inches deep
  • People who want cotton sheets cut to the size
  • Beds against a wall, thanks to the elastic all round and the straps

πŸ‘Ž Skip it if

  • Your mattress is more than 10 inches deep
  • You need a bunk or three-quarter size
  • You want sheets that feel silky-soft from night one

The shop gives free shipping on orders of $50 or more and takes returns within 60 days of shipment if the sheets are unwashed and in their original condition. So put the fitted sheet on your mattress before the first wash. Our Egyptian Linens review has the full details, the other fabrics and the links to the RV sets.

Frequently asked questions

Is an RV queen the same as a regular queen?

Usually not. Most RV queens are short queens, 60 x 75 inches, which is 5 inches shorter than a 60 x 80 inch home queen. Some RVs have a full-length queen, so measure yours.

Will regular queen sheets fit an RV short queen?

The flat sheet will, but the fitted sheet is 5 inches too long, so it bunches and slips. Sheet straps help, or buy short queen sheets.

What size is an RV king bed?

An RV king is 72 x 80 inches, 4 inches narrower than a 76 x 80 inch home king, so home king sheets, including the split king sets made for adjustable beds, sit loose on it. An RV short king is 72 x 75 inches.

Can I use full sheets on an RV short queen?

Not well. A full fitted sheet is the right length but 6 inches too narrow, so it strains at the corners and pulls off.

How thick are RV mattresses?

There’s no standard thickness, so measure yours from the bottom edge to the top. Match it to the pocket depth on the sheet set, and remember to add a topper if you use one.

My verdict

Don’t trust the name on the bed. Measure the width, the length and the depth, and buy a fitted sheet made for those numbers. For an RV short queen, RV king or short king up to 10 inches deep, Egyptian Linens’ cotton RV sets are cut to the size; the 300 thread count set is the cheapest. Just try the fitted sheet before you wash it.
