Hi, I’m Sarah Ellis, the heart and soul behind SleepGood.org.
For years, sleep felt like a distant dream. In my late 20s, as a busy graphic designer, I lived on endless coffee and late-night deadlines. But it backfired hard. Insomnia hit me like a storm—nights of endless tossing, racing worries, and zero rest. Days dragged on with brain fog, short fuses, and fading joy. Friends drifted away, work suffered, and I even quit a dream gig from sheer exhaustion. Pills from the doctor? They just dulled the pain, not the root.
Rock bottom came five years ago. A freezing winter week with only three hours of broken sleep each night. I was done. I dug into books, apps, and expert tips. Small changes added up: No screens after 8 PM. A cozy bedtime routine with chamomile tea and a quick journal. Cooler room, steady wake-up times, and gentle aids like lavender oil. The real magic? CBT-I therapy—it flipped my fear of bad nights into quiet trust. In weeks, I slept 7 solid hours. Months later? I felt alive again.
Now, at 35, I’m loving life: Creative sparks at work, laughs with loved ones, and hikes that light me up. But I get it—sleep struggles hit so many of us in this wired world. That’s why I started SleepGood.org in 2023. It’s my space to share the real stuff:
- Honest stories from my ups (bye-bye, eye masks that worked!) and downs (weighted blankets? Total flop).
- Quick tips on sleep trackers, routines, and myth-busters.
- Guest chats with pros and community wins.
My goal? Make rest feel simple, fun, and yours. Got questions? Hit the blog comments or email me at admin@sleepgood.org. Here’s to your best sleep yet! 😴
